Sphyraena barracuda

Distribution: Belt tropical Atlantic side, Indo Pacific region.

Description: Size between 40 and 200 cm. Its weight can reach nearly 50kg.
The body color is silver with a few scattered black spots often.
A large elongated and slightly lowered jaw has large sharp teeth.

Habitat: This fish lives alone.
It can be observed up to 100 m deep, but in view of its power, it is frequently encountered on the reef plateau.

Food: This is a formidable predator known for its lightning attacks and its voracity; It feeds mainly on cephalopods, fish and shrimp.
