Symphodus tinca

Distribution: Mediterranean, Atlantic, on the coasts of Spain and Morocco.

Housing: lives in coastal waters near rocks and seagrass beds, 1 to 80 m.

Description: Male brightly colored, especially during the breeding season: light green, blue-green or yellowish green with longitudinal lines of red dots, top of the dark blue head, fins with blue spots, green, red or yellow.
Size: Maximum: 44 cm, common from 10 to 25 cm.

Food:. Feeds on benthic invertebrates (sea urchins, brittle stars, snails, bivalves, shrimps and crabs).
