Four eyed butterflyfish

Chaetodon capistratus

Distribution: Caribbean, Bermuda, is one of the most common Antilles butterfly fish.       

Description: The body is silver gray and a vertical black band through the head through the middle of the eyes. The rear part of the body is characterized by a dark spot surrounded by a white ring. The caudal fin is crossed by a gray band bordered by a black line on each side.
This band extends a small portion of the rear body

              Housing: This fish is frequently encountered in pairs or in small groups. It measures between 10 and 15cm, and moves in the reef between 5 and 30m deep.

Food: coral, sea fans and some algae.
