Distribution: Indo-Pacific, Southern Red Sea, Hawaii, South Africa.

Habitat: It lives in shallow waters (3-50 m), around coral reefs.
This fish is strictly diurnal, sleeping at night on the reef in relatively open spaces where they can quickly escape predators.

Description: The body color is green or pink or blue rose according to gender of the individual. The caudal fin is shaped lyre.

Food: Coral reef benthic organisms.
