Amphiprion bicinctus

Distribution: Fish endemic to the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, Chagos Archipelago and the western Indian Ocean.

Habitat: Occurs in lagoons and outer reefs. Adults are extremely territorial, never very far from their anemone that provides them shelter against predators with its stinging tentacles and they rub regularly so as not to be "consumable".

Description: The body color ranges from yellow-orange to reddish brown in some specimens with a dark line on the upper body brown.
A white band behind the body through the head, a second white bandpass mid-body. The color of the fins following staining of the body.

Food: Waste generated by the host anemone, benthic algae and zooplankton occasionally.
