Distribution: From the North Atlantic to Senegal Channel Mediterranean.

Habitat: Pretty territorial , especially during breeding , the Triptérygions live in rock, battered by the waves to more than 20 meters deep area. Near the surface , it is common to see them share the small holes with rock blennies .

Description: Body halfway between the blenny and small Grondin, the Tripterygion is a very elegant fish. The rays of the fins are colored like the body , they are finely chopped . Shaped snout small beak . The body and fins are mottled reddish brown , the back is adorned with five white spots . During breeding season , the male is bright yellow with a black head .

Food : Nestled in the holes of the rocks, leaving only their head, they come out from time to time for planktonic animal feed. They are diurnal fish.
